“Wasn’t necessarily surprised” Jerry Jones gives an ambiguous reaction to owner Dan Snyder exploring Commanders sale possibilities
Jerry Jones is one of the most influential team owners in the NFL. The Cowboys owner has lots of say and influence in the league and has often been open about his thoughts and reactions. So it came as no surprise when Jerry Jones decided to speak candidly about the news of Dan Snyder hiring Bank Of America financial services for a possible sale of the team.
Jones was recently featured on the radio show ‘105.3 FM’ and spoke about what he thought was the reason behind the Snyders selling the team.
Jones was complacent throughout the interview and understood the primary reasons behind the sale of the team as the Cowboys owner stated that he wasn’t surprised by the news.
“Well, I don’t think I was necessarily surprised because he recently acquired a very significant portion of the team, 40% from other partners,” Jerry Jones added per Ben Standing of the Athletic. “And at the same time, he’s entertaining the building of the new stadium. The acquisition of the partnership interest, as well as the building of the new stadium, is going to require huge economic resources, almost unthinkable economic resources.“

Jerry Jones believes that Dan Snyder will consider all his options while selling the Commanders
The Washington Commanders are one of the most valuable teams in the NFL, as they are valued at around $5.6 billion. There are reports that the team could be sold in the range of $6 to $7 billion. There is also speculation that the Snyders will sell the majority stake of the team and not the whole team.
When Jerry Jones was asked about the possibility of the Snyders selling a majority stake, the Cowboys owner had a cryptic answer prepared for the situation.
“It sounds like I’m saying that, but I am really saying I bet all options are on the table, and then you see what might be possible. And that’s what I think the exercise is. Let’s look and see what our options are here.” Jerry Jones stated on Radio. “See where the big interest is, what makes the most sense, in their case, to the Snyders, and then go from there.”
Jerry Jones is an experienced owner who understands everything about the economics of making team management work and how to find a way to the risks associated with this. No wonder the Cowboys are one of the most valuable teams in the whole world.
