The Dallas Cowboys needed a morale-boosting win on Monday against the Los Angeles Chargers at the SoFi Stadium. Their previous encounter against the San Francisco 49ers did not go according to the plan as the Niners dismantled the Cowboys, 42-10. They got that win against the Chargers, 20-17. It wasn’t a perfect game but it was a much-needed win.

Brandon Staley, the head coach of the Chargers, called the game a “high-level game between two teams that are really, really good.” It was far from it as both the teams made mistakes at crucial junctures of the game. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones feels that it was a “disjointed” and “sloppy” game between the two sides, despite the Cowboys coming out on top.

“I felt it was as disjointed or sloppy a game as — maybe that’s a strong word — for both sides,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “They’ve got a good quarterback and good players. We respected them going in. They were everything we thought they’d be. I’m really proud that we got out there and had that kind of win against them.”

The Cowboys will play the Los Angeles Rams on October 29. They will enjoy this bye week and will hope to go on a winning spree. Jones would certainly hope that happens.

Jerry Jones thinks the Cowboys can still improve despite their win against the Chargers

The Dallas Cowboys are certainly one of the most talented teams in the NFL. They have won four of the six games this season and are in a prime position to make a deep playoff run. Their owner Jerry Jones, however, still feels like there is a lot that the team can improve.

“I think we do have serious room for improvement — we have that,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “We’re not yet the team we can be. The major limiting factor for our team to evolve and get better will be availability of players we’re counting on. Injury, principally, is the problem. But if we can stay healthy, we will evolve and get better. We have outstanding talent.”

The Cowboys were beaten by the San Francisco 49ers last season in the NFC Divisional Round. They have failed to reach the Super Bowl with their starting QB Dak Prescott and will hope to change that this season. They will play their next game against the Los Angeles Rams on October 29.
