Cowboys’ Jerry Jones steps down on his pursuit of Odell Beckham Jr. with interest ‘FADING’ for the esteemed WR

Odell Beckham Jr. has been the most talked about player in the NFL this season and he’s not even part of a team currently. The WR had a great season with the Rams where he won the Super Bowl and was one of the best WRs in the league.

However, a severe ACL injury in the Super Bowl game pushed him to the sidelines for most of this season. Although the WR has not recovered completely according to some reports, he is still looking to sign a team before the season ends.

The Cowboys were seriously considering signing the 30-year-old WR and OBJ even visited the Cowboys’ facilities for medical tests and examinations. Owner Jerry Jones was really looking forward to this deal, however, recent admissions from the Cowboys owner suggest otherwise.

Jones suddenly doesn’t feel confident enough in signing Odell as it’s not sure if the WR will be able to help the team during the playoffs this season.

“As of this morning, we don’t have anything,” Jones stated on 103.5 The Fans when asked about the Odell situation. “The reality is, though, that time is moving on down the road relative to playing in the playoffs and so every day diminishes our chances of going forward.”

Odell Beckham Jr. offers tons of functionality in the offense. The WR is swift and mobile and therefore will be a worthy addition to any team. The Cowboys were in pursuit of OBJ because they wanted help in the playoffs.

However, the medical reports of OBJ were leaked and stated that the esteemed WR wouldn’t be able to play any football this season as his injury hasn’t recovered completely.

If the Cowboys were to sign OBJ, he will be pushed to the injury reserve list and will be of no use to them. The Cowboys have already found a replacement in veteran WR T. Y. Hilton who was signed recently through free agency.

On the other hand, Odell Beckham Jr. still has other options as the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills have shown renewed interest in the 30-year-old. However, recent rumors suggest that the WR will hold out signing for a team until next season. Therefore, all the OBJ fans will have to wait some more time to see their favorite WR back in action.
