One of the most discussed topics among football fans currently is the controversial Tush-Push play, popularized by Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Many experts, including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, are advocating for the play to be banned. But, the Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has a surprising take on the topic.
During a recent episode of 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, made an appearance to share his thoughts about his team’s week 14 matchup against the defending NFC Champions Eagles.
I don't have that kind of issue with those techniques that, to me, will automatically take care of itself. We'll either do a better job of getting those interior lineman and getting some pressure back against that.Jones on 105.3 The Fan.
So, unlike Goodell and some other experts, Jones is not worried about the Tush-Push play. Because it is a great weapon in short-yardage situations when used correctly. In fact, Dak Prescott and the Dallas-based football team have already attempted to use the controversial play one time against the Los Angeles Chargers but failed to successfully execute it.
So, it is clear that Jones is a fan of the Rugby style play and wants to add that controversial scrum to their playbook. They could even use that play against the Eagles when the two division rivals face each other in a highly anticipated game this Sunday.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a big fan of the Tush-Push play
Unlike many experts, the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t want to see the controversial Tush-Push play banned by the league. Just a few days ago, Jones admitted that he is a fan of the play during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan.
I’m all for it and I like the play. I’m O.K. with it. I like the play. I think there’s a place for the play. . . . I’m all for implementing the emphasis on the scrum. The traditional scrum. . . . That doesn’t bother me as much on this play.
Nonetheless, Jones would be aware of the damage Jalen Hurts can do with the play during their matchup this weekend. Jones’ team has already once faced a defeat against the Eagles in the ongoing season. He wouldn’t want to suffer the same fate again.
Jones would like to see his quarterback Dak Prescott lead the Cowboys to a victory this weekend. If the Cowboys win against the Eagles, they would tie for the best record in the NFC. So, everything is in the line for both teams on Sunday, which would certainly make it an interesting game.
