The Pro Bowl outside linebacker TJ Watt had a historic game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a victory with a scoop and touchdown in final minutes. Watt became the sack leader of the Pittsburgh-based football team on Monday. Following the historic game, the Houston Texans legend JJ Watt declared TJ as the best defensive player in the league over the likes of Micah Parsons, Nick Bosa, and Aaron Donald.

“TJ WATT is the best defensive player on the planet,” wrote JJ Watt on his social media profile X. “Stop trying to question it, stop trying to justify anyone else. He is the best. Period.”

TJ Watt is certainly one of the best players in the NFL right now. On Monday, Watt registered a sack against the Browns and scored his first career touchdown to help the Steelers win a crucial division game against the Cleveland-based football team. Furthermore, with a sack in the game, TJ Watt became the sack leader of the Steelers with 81.5 sacks to his name.

JJ Watt’s comments came after the historic game. As a brother, JJ is obviously going to choose his own blood as the best player in the league. However, JJ saying that out loud didn’t sit well with some fans on social media. Some people argued with JJ that the Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is currently the best player in the league.

Nonetheless, TJ is just 28 years old and could dominate the league for the next few seasons. He is looking to break the single-season sack record in the ongoing season. Currently, TJ Watt and Michael Strahan of the New York Giants share the record for the most sacks in a year with 22.5 sacks.

TJ Watt has been off to a great start to his 2023 season

Before the start of the 2023 season, TJ Watt claimed that he was planning to break the single-season sack record. Well, he is off to a perfect start to achieve his goal.

During the Steelers’ week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers, TJ Watt registered 3 sacks against the strong 49ers offensive line. Furthermore, in the week 2 game against the Browns, TJ registered a sack and scored the first touchdown of his career.

Anyhow, the former All-Pro linebacker looks to continue his dominant run when the Steelers face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in their week 3 matchup. He will look to register more sacks and keep his pace in his quest to break the single-season sack record.
