It’s not easy to forget the loss in the Super Bowl, but Nick Bosa appeared to be trying his best to keep his mind off the events a month ago.

The San Francisco 49ers defensive end attended UFC 299 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, alongside Donald Trump and Joe Burrow.

The former USA President arrived at the venue with MMA fans cheering at the top of their voices to watch Petr Yan take on Song Yadong. As the match concluded, former UFC champion Yan returned to winning ways after a three-match losing streak, taking a 29-28 victory over Yadong.

Trump entered the octagon with UFC CEO Dana White. Then Barstool Sports shared a clip showing Nick Bosa shaking hands with the 2024 Republican presidential candidate.

Another eagle-eyed football fan shared a picture of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow enjoying the game as well. He, too, went up to Trump and had a short chat.

What kind of history do Nick Bosa and Joe Burrow have with Donald Trump?

Bosa and Trump go way back. Well, it’s not certain whether they know each other at face value, but the 77-year-old was definitely aware of who the pass rusher was even before he became a San Francisco 49ers player.

When the 49ers selected Bosa in the NFL draft, Trump congratulated the Ohio State graduate on X (formerly Twitter).

Congratulations to Nick Bosa on being picked number two in the NFL Draft. You will be a great player for years to come—maybe one of the best. Big Talent! San Francisco will embrace you, but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Trump even brought up Bosa’s name during his MAGA rally. Though the four-time Pro Bowler has never openly endorsed Trump, he has claimed that the 49ers player is a MAGA fan.

I [Donald Trump] watched the NFL Draft the other night. It was the second draft choice. And he gets out—Bosa. He’s going to be a great player, from Ohio State. And he’s a MAGA fan! He loves Trump! He loves MAGA. We have a lot of young people out there. I actually think we have more than they do.

In Burrow’s case, there’s no prior connection with Trump except for a chance meeting. Last year, he did meet Trump at UFC 287 alongside Odell Beckham Jr.

That said, it’s not surprising that Trump wouldn’t be aware of the two most prominent faces in the NFL. Football being his favorite sport besides golf, he perhaps keeps track of what goes on and off the field more than the regular fan.
