“It’s like he never left”: Joe Burrow has an excellent practice session in return to the Bengals minicamp

Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor
Joe Burrow recently underwent an appendectomy, a surgery that none of the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff saw coming or could predict he needed, losing the quarterback was not good for the team but they were fortunate that he needed to undergo the surgery before the regular season began, the quarterback is already up and going following the surgery, he has gradually been practicing with the team and taking his time to get back but HC Zac Taylor believes that Burrow looks great.
Joe Burrow participated in the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice session, he took part in all drills except for the 11-on-11 practice. HC Zac Taylor spoke on the status of his quarterback and though he was taking limited reps and is not yet fully ready, he believes Burrow looked good doing even that much work.
“Good step in the right direction”: Cincinnati Bengals HC Zac Taylor likes what he sees from Joe Burrow:

Joe Burrow had his first practice in pads today, following the practice, HC Zac Taylor had this to say about his QB, “I thought he looked good, it’s good to get him involved, he did some individual, he did some 7-on-7 so that’s a step in the right direction,” Taylor told media following the team’s practice. Burrow had faced some issues before his surgery and was cramping up during the minicamp sessions and his condition only got worse which is why he got the surgery without any further delay.
The first couple of days Joey B took off, however, he could not stay away for long from his team and was seen alongside his teammates taking part in drills by driving a golf cart, he’s been looking better by the day and is getting back to his regular self, he also was seen sporting the earpiece in order to listen to play-calls.
The Bengals missed Joey B in their preseason opener against the Cardinals. The plan according to HC Zac Taylor is to give him two 7-on-7 reps and ease him in, the QB did more than that and took 10 reps. Burrow took a couple of reps and threw to Ja’Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins. The next step is to make the quarterback play 11-on-11s in practice and if he ends up feeling comfortable enough to take a full set of reps with the team, he could be available for the joint practice with the Rams on the 27th of August. For Zac Taylor, it is nothing but a positive, “It’s fun to get your quarterback out there,” the HC concluded.
