NFL has been on a suspension and punishment spree. The new is for the Miami Dolphins and owner Stephen Ross. The NFL handed down its sentence following a six-month-long investigation into the Miami Dolphins’ alleged tampering with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton this past offseason.

Rich Eisen is a senior memeber of the NFL media and thus received an official from the NFL regarding the suspension and he read and reacted to it on his show.

Most notable part of the communication was the fact that the Miami Dolphins were not only talking to Tom Brady when he was a Buccaneer in 2021 season when the discussions were centered on Brady becoming an owner and football executive and may be a part of Dolphins as a player but they were talking to Brady when he was a New England Patriot in 2019 season.

This was a revelation to Eisen. The NFL also concluded that the accusation of former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores that Ross offered Flores $100,000 to lose games to improve Miami’s position in the draft was not true but Eisen didn’t seem to convinced based on the words that Ross exchanged with Flores and Dolphins executives.

The league announced the Dolphins must forfeit their first-round pick in the 2023 draft as well as their third-round pick in 2024. Ross was also fined $1.5 million, suspended through Oct. 17 (the first six weeks of the season), indefinitely removed from all league committees and uninvited from all league meetings until next offseason.

On being asked if the punishment to Ross and his team seemed less, Eisen responded that a 1st round pick loss is significant and was wondering how Ross felt when Brady didn’t go to Dolphins after leaving the Bucs.
