‘Quarterback’ is a series that is available on the popular streaming platform Netflix in collaboration with the National Football League (NFL). It is sponsored by NFL Films, 2PM Productions, and Omaha Productions.
The show was released in July and revolves around three of the top quarterbacks from the league. The season one included Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, and then Atlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota.
The series consists of eight episodes and has exclusive and behind-the-scenes footage from the 2022 NFL season of the three quarterbacks. What makes it more interesting is that it has clips from Patrick Mahomes who eventually won the Super Bowl LVII.
Joe Burrow set to accept offer for Netflix show ‘Quarterback‘ after initially declining
Following the great success of the show’s first season, the production team approached Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for the next season. However, Burrow declined the offer, saying that he didn’t have the time to give to such a show. He also mentioned that being involved with the media is something that he did not like.
‘”If you guys know anything about me. Media isn’t my favorite thing to do,” Burrow said. “The process of that show is very intense, and there’s a lot of time you have to give to a show like that. Time I’m not ready to give right now.”
But as per new reports, Joe Burrow has taken a U-turn on his decision to not star in the series and will in fact be featured in the upcoming season. This has been reported by NBC’s Sports’ Peter King who says Burrow will be featuring on the show. “I hold out hope for the next season to be even more inside, starting with the calf injury to 2023 series participant Joe Burrow,” he has said.
Burrow suffered a calf injury last week during training and miss several weeks of action and will most likely be out of the pre season and there’s a high chance will miss week 1 as well.
