Joey Bosa is set to play under a fourth different coach in nine years at the Los Angeles Chargers. But unlike his previous bosses, Bosa believes that Jim Harbaugh could bring something special to the team.
The Chargers finished another season without playoff football, winning just five games out of 12. Brandon Staley was already shown the door even before playing all 17 games.

After a long search and interviewing several potential candidates, the Chargers brought in 2023 college football champion Jim Harbaugh from Michigan.
There were a lot of speculations on how some of the stars of the team would welcome the new head coach. In a recent interview on Sportscenter with Linda Cohn, Joey Bosa revealed that he had a brief chat with the 60-year-old after the announcement.
We sat down and probably talked for 30 minutes to an hour a couple of weeks ago. Great first impressions I have a lot of confidence in him and the staff that he’s bringing. He told Cohn
It’s not the first time these two individuals have been under the same roof. Bosa faced Harbaugh back in 2015 while starring for Michigan’s greatest rival, Ohio State. The Buckeyes won 42–13. In that game, Bosa had a sack and an interception.
Now he will have the opportunity to learn from him. After reversing the hierarchy in college football, Harbaugh could also inject the much-needed Moxy into the Chargers.
I think he seems like a really genuine guy. He loves football more than anything. I think all he wants to do is win.Bosa said.
Joey Bosa spoke about future expectations from the Chargers with Jim Harbaugh as head coach
If Bosa sticks around, which is likely to be the case after the recent salary cap increase, with Harbaugh in charge, there will undoubtedly be calls for a Super Bowl run. More so after Harbaugh called quarterback Justin Herbert the ‘crown jewel‘ of the league.

Bosa will be 29 by the time the 2024 season starts, but before thinking about the Super Bowl, he wants to win the first game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That’s an expectation for sure, [but] I’d like to win Game 1 first, then we can talk about Week 2 and then Week 3. There’s a lot of talk about the Super Bowl every year, and every year I kind of have a similar answer, like, ‘Alright, let’s see how the first week goes.Bosa said
Bosa missed a chunk of last season after suffering a foot injury during the team’s Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers. It occurred during the opening drive when Packers running back Aaron Jones collided with Bosa. He played a total of nine games, registering 20 combined tackles and sacking 6.5 times.
