Christian McCaffrey is a 49er now and GM John Lynch is responsible for making it happen. McCaffrey is currently one of the best RB in the league and trading him to the 49ers wasn’t an easy task.

The blockbuster signing sent shockwaves around the NFL as the 49ers traded McCaffrey for three draft picks. The Panthers are looking to rebuild as they have just fired their HC Matt Rhule and would need the reinforcements that they can get from 2023 NFL drafts third & fourth-round picks and also a fifth-round pick in 2024 that they received from the 49ers for Christian McCaffrey.

GM John Lynch was excited to speak to the media after pulling off the blockbuster trade just days before the deadline approaches. “You only do this when you have belief in your team as its constructed,” Lynch said. “We’ve got a lot of work to do,” “this isn’t a magic pill. I’m excited to see what we draw up.”

The 49ers are currently competing for the NFC West title as they are tied on the score with the Rams and the Seahawks. Christian McCaffrey will be a useful addition to the team and can even help them clinch the division title from the defending champions.

“He brings a lot more than just running back skills,” Kyle Shanahan told the media on Friday. “He’s an incredibly accomplished player. He’s got tremendous feel, he can play with speed, power … I don’t think there’s anything he can’t do.”
