John McEnroe is a legendary tennis player who recently made comparisons between tennis prodigy Carlos Alcaraz and NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. Alcaraz recently won the iconic Wimbledon tournament after defeating Novak Djokovic in an intense affair.

The young starlet provided an upset to probably the biggest name in tennis history. McEnroe believes Alcaraz is the new Mahomes, as both are considered young prodigies who are expected to exceed all the limitations set before them.

NFL reporter Jeff Darlington recently tweeted regarding the comparisons between Alcaraz and Mahomes after the young Tennis prodigy won his first-ever Wimbledon tournament.

“A few months ago, while we were talking tennis and football together, John McEnroe put Carlos Alcaraz into perspective for me: “He’s Patrick Mahomes.” McEnroe’s point wasn’t merely noting Alcaraz is a young phenom. He explained Alcaraz has every tool, physically and mentally,” Jeff Darlington stated on Twitter.

John McEnroe had predicted the victory months before it actually happened and crowned Alcaraz as the new young prodigy. Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in an exhilarating fashion and marked his spot as a future tennis great.

McEnroe made the astonishing comparison because both Alcaraz and Patrick Mahomes are physically and mentally fit. They both are No.1 in their respective sports and have a bright future ahead.

Patrick Mahomes is set for another stellar season

The Kansas City Chiefs had a historic run last year and won the Super Bowl for the third time in the franchise’s history. Patrick Mahomes was influential in this victory and won both, the regular season MVP and the Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes is currently gearing up for another historic season and wants to win for a consecutive second time. Similarly, Carlos Alcaraz has also started his tennis legacy by winning Wimbledon, marking his second Grand Slam victory after last year’s US Open title, and will be known for many years to come. Both, Mahomes and Alcaraz are young compared to their massive accomplishments and can contribute a lot to their respective sports.

The Chiefs QB was also recently featured in the Netflix documentary called ‘The Quarterbacks’, where he shared his entire pre-game routine and took his viewers along for a personal journey. Mahomes is growing and is currently the best player in the NFL and will be for a long time due to his insane potential and work ethic.
