The Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs is changing teams again. Ahead of the 2023 season, the Cardinals picked him as their starting quarterback. However, the player failed to create an impact on the team and struggled in his Cardinals tenure due to repeated fumbles and interceptions. The head coach of the Cardinals even announced that Dobbs would not be their starting quarterback in week nine.
Considering all of these, a trade looked like a possible solution to both ends. The Cardinals traded him to the Minnesota Vikings yesterday. The decision came a few days after Kirk Cousins, the regular QB for the Vikings, injured himself and was ruled out of the season. Cousins tore his Achilles, and the season ended for him.

The Vikings were looking for a prospective replacement option and Dobbs looked like a perfect one for them. Dobbs is a Viking man now and he is expected to turn the table for them. The Vikings had struggled in the first half of the league, hence Dobbs needs to change the scenario with his ability and skills.
Dobbs shared a beautiful message after the trade took place. From his Twitter (now X) handle, sharing some snippets from his tenure with the Cards, the present Vikings man wrote:
Going to be an incredible story to tell.
It was a sign of gratitude for the last-minute trade that took place. It would help him to bolster his career in the NFL, which was suffering due to a lot of reasons in the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals lost their last game against the Baltimore Ravens and Dobbs struggled. He covered 208 yards and had two touchdowns with two interceptions. Dobbs’ struggles were reflected throughout the season as the player only covered 1,589 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. Those stats failed to assure him a permanent position in the team.
The Vikings are going to miss Kirk Cousins
Just when the Vikings were looking confident in the league, they suffered their biggest blow. Kirk Cousins, their regular quarterback, suffered a major Achilles tendon injury and was ruled out of the entire season.
The Vikings had a bad start to their season. They have only won two fixtures in their first six games. Nonetheless, they had a decent comeback after winning their consecutive games against the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers. They moved to 4-4 and Cousins played a vital role in both victories.

This season, Cousins was pivotal for the Vikings despite the initial results. In his eight games, Cousins already covered 2,331 passing yards and registered 18 touchdowns with five interceptions, even with the absence of their star WR Justin Jefferson.
Abiding by his statistics, it can be said that he is better than a lot of other quarterbacks. This is the sole reason for the Vikings to miss him in the coming fixtures. His replacement does not share figures that can match his ability.
