Joshua Dobbs could not have asked for a better way to start off his stint with the Minnesota Vikings. The quarterback managed to lead the team to a narrow 31-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons despite having under 10 days to familiarize himself with the team’s offensive playbook. He managed to win the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance, which is really impressive given the circumstances.
Dobbs will now look to be the primary QB for the Vikings as the team is unlikely to alternate between Jaren Hall and Cam Akers as they did last week. However, Dobbs will still face an uphill task while attempting to familiarize himself with the team’s offensive playbook, but lucky for him, he has Kirk Cousins in his corner. The QB who recently started his rehab has been in the team’s facility and, as a result, has been of immense help to Dobbs.

The duo shares the same agent as well, so it got easier for Dobbs to link up with Cousins.
I was able to get connected with him pretty quickly once I got up here, and it's been great to have him as a resource. He's been awesome.
Dobbs stated to the media and commended Kirk Cousins for his warm welcome.
Kirk Cousins asked Joshua Dobbs to reach out to him at any time
Cousins asked Dobbs to not hesitate to reach out to him if he needed anything.
The first thing he said was, 'If you need anything, want to know more about the offense, whatever you need- don't hesitate to call, text.

The quarterback said that Kirk Cousins is still actively attending the team’s meetings despite being out for the rest of the season. Last week, Cousins was actively prepping rookie Jaren Hall to start and Dobbs was right beside him attempting to soak up information “like a sponge.”
The quarterback has said that he will “continue to use him (Kirk Cousins) as a resource.” In his first game for the Vikings, Dobbs managed to complete 20 of 30 passes and had a total of 158 yards with two touchdowns. He recorded an additional 66-yards rushing and had one touchdown.
The Minnesota Vikings will take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.
