“It would have to be New England,” retired WR Julian Edelman claims the Patriots are the only team he would come back to play for

Former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has claimed that he got calls from three teams and he has turned down them all. He said if he ever comes back to play football, it would be for the New England Patriots.
Speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub in a recent episode, Edelman talked about the New England Patriots’ offensive struggles this season and how it is difficult to watch them. He continued that he’s seeing lots of screens and draws, which tells him that they don’t trust their receivers to get open. He complimented the defense, saying they look like killers once again.
While Edelman says he understands that Rome wasn’t built on a day and this is a new generation of Patriots but the players have gotta go out and make plays. When asked if he would come back to play if someone called him, Edelman answered that there have been some calls.“There have been some calls, and I’ve turned them down.” He said, “The situation would have to be in New England with a New England team that’s a contender.”
Edelman cleverly ignored the host’s question about whether one of the teams that called him was from the NFC South. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are from NFC South and the host was referring to whether Tom Brady has called Julian Edelman about his comeback to the national football league.
Edelman then joked about how New England is copying all his ‘social digital stuff’, referring to the term he coined, ‘Foxborough Forever’, which is currently being used by the New England Patriots.

Julian Edelman blames coaching staff

Earlier this week, Edelman Joined 98.5 The Sports hub to talk about his life after retirement. When asked a question about New England’s horrible season on offense, Edelman answered that this is a young team that is in transition mode and the coaches are not doing a good job at calling plays.
Edelman also believes that Mac Jones has regressed in his second season and it’s because of the coaching staff. He said that Jones played brilliantly last year, and Mac and McDaniels had a good little formula. He also noted that it’s tough for a young quarterback to go through the transition into a new offensive coordinator.
The Former Patriots WR credited Jones’ success last year partly to Josh McDaniels, the current head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Edelman believes that the new offensive coaches Matt Patricia and Joe Judge are learning just as much as he is.
Mac Jones and the New England Patriots will look to put a stop to their offensive struggles when they face the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.
