Julian Edelman throws his cap in anger
Former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was extremely furious at the end of the week 15 game between the New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Patriots lost the game courtesy of a brain fade moment by WR Jakobi Meyers on Sunday afternoon. Instead of keeping it simple and forcing OT, the Patriots ran the ball from their own 45-yard line on the final play of the game.
This was an attempt to do something special to seal the game. After running a decent number of yards, running back Rhamondre Stevenson gave the ball to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who ideally should’ve just kept it simple and gone to the ground. The WR decided to go out of the box and attempted to throw the ball across the field to QB Mac Jones.
To his dismay, the ball landed in the hands of Raiders linebacker Chandler Jones, who overcame a tackle attempt by Mac Jones and ran into the end zone to score a game-winning touchdown. This crazy moment gave a much-needed dramatic 30-24 win to the Raiders and within seconds, the Patriots were put against the ground despite being in a good position.
Former Patriots WR Julian Edelman, who is also a 3-time Super Bowl winner, was also present at the Allegiant Stadium for the Patriots vs Raiders game. Edelman’s passion was visible in the stands after this ‘disastrous’ moment by the Patriots. He couldn’t believe the things that panned out in the last few seconds and was very angry at the Patriots.
“What the f**k are we doing? What are we doing?” Edelman yelled before throwing his cap away in agony.
Jakobi Meyers takes full accountability for his mistake

It was a team blunder by the Patriots, but the main culprit in the whole fiasco was WR Jakobi Meyers. He was the one who decided to do a little extra and throw the ball back to Mac Jones. After the game, he took full responsibility for his mistake and admitted that he was trying to be a hero and was trying a little extra.
“I was just trying to do too much, trying to be a hero, I guess,” Meyers told the reporters. “I didn’t see the dude back there, trying to throw the ball. Like I said, I was just doing too much. I should have just went down with the ball.”
Meyers was lauded on social media by the fans for taking full accountability. Although unfortunately the Patriots went 7-7 for the season after this loss and are currently 3rd in the AFC East. They are the 8th best team in the conference and would want to solidify their position for a playoff spot in the coming weeks when they face the Bengals, the Dolphins, and the Bills.
