“So much hype around them,” Julian Edelman predicts Tyreek Hill’s Miami Dolphins to have a bad season in 2023 even with Jalen Ramsey’s addition

Former New England Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman is not willing to take a punt on the star-studded Miami Dolphins to have a successful season in 2023/24. The Dolphins are arguably one of the best teams at least on paper in the AFC, especially after the addition of cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the offseason.
Edelman does not believe in the hype associated with the Dolphins and feels that they would take in reality take a “step back.” The 37-year-old also argued that as many as forty per cent of the teams from last season would not make it into the playoffs this season. “I could see Miami taking a step back,” Edelman said during his appearance on the New Heights podcast.“I don’t know if it was a fluke, but you know, December and November football’s different. It’s different. I see them taking a step back because they have so much hype around them.”
“There’s like always that one team where they’re supposed to be good and something like, what is it, 40% of the teams that made the playoffs last year aren’t going to make the playoffs this year,” the former NFL wideout shared.
Miami Dolphins’ success will depend a lot on the fitness of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa
The Dolphins made it into the playoffs last season finishing second in the AFC East division but failed to get past the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s absence in that particular game cost the franchise big time.
Tagovailoa led the franchise to an 8-5 record in the 13 games that he started in the NFL, forming a formidable partnership with wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the latter’s first season in Florida. Tagovailoa’s form and fitness will once again be crucial in determining the franchise’s success in the 2023/24 season.
Mike McDaniel, however, has a better roster at his disposal for the upcoming season especially after the franchise signed big-name players in the form of Xavien Howard, Jevon Holland, and Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins won’t have it easy by any stretch of the imagination, even within their own division, with the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New England Patriots all improving themselves in the offseason.
