Ever since the Chicago Bears gained the No. 1 pick this offseason, there have been unsettling questions regarding Justin Fields’ future in the franchise. Many believe the franchise is highly likely to go forward with top prospect Caleb Williams in the upcoming NFL Draft.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday, quarterback Fields may not land any starting job in the 2024 NFL season. Just a couple of days ago, the league had the rumor that the Atlanta Falcons appear to be interested in Fields.

But it turns out they aren’t considering the quarterback with one serious thought. They were more interested in acquiring star QB Kirk Cousins rather than focusing on Fields.
In a recent appearance on First Take, Schefter highlighted how all those teams who had given attention to Fields, went ahead with their best choice. Whether be it Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, or Las Vegas Raiders, they all have signed other quarterbacks.
Schefter said:
And so now he [Justin Fields] is sitting there, and it doesn’t look like there’s a starting job out there at this particular moment, and so the teams that are looking at him would be looking at him as a backup.Adam Schefter said
In his three seasons with the Bears, Fields dealt with a lot of ups and downs. He logged 6,674 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions along with a 60.3% completion percentage.
Justin Fields likely to remain with the Bears amidst the free agency market challenges
There aren’t many teams left in the league eyeing the Ohio State product. And given how things worked out with those teams, who were interested in him, Fields is more likely to stay with the Bears than any other team, as reported by Adam Thompson of Bookies.
The Bears are reportedly the favorite to come up with a satisfactory contract with the young quarterback. On a different and more apparent note, if the Bears decided to draft Williams as the starting QB, Fields wouldn’t have an alternate option than to part ways.

Other NFL teams eyeing the quarterback are mostly likely to sign him as a backup. It is worth noting that they already have finalized their starting quarterback from the free agency market.
