The Los Angeles Chargers lost their game against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday. They came into the game with two wins in a row and were finally looking like the team they were expected to be before the season. However, the Cowboys proved to be a tough out as the Chargers were held to only 17 points as the offense struggled to put up points in the later stages of the game. The Chargers’ superstar QB Justin Herbert had a rough game against a vaunted Cowboys defense.
Herbert started the game well as the Chargers scored first with a 1-yard pass from Herbert to WR Keenan Allen. The Cowboys though, came roaring back with their QB Dak Prescott scoring the team’s first touchdown with a great 18-yard run. The Chargers had a chance to win the game late in the fourth quarter but Herbert was sacked for a loss on a crucial 2nd and short play. Following that, the pressure from the Cowboys’ defense forced Herbert to throw the ball into traffic and that resulted in an interception by CB Stephon Gilmore.
With 1:22 remaining in the game and the Cowboys leading by three points, the Chargers had the ball on their own 25-yard line. On a 3rd and long, the Cowboys bought in pressure and Herbert wasn’t able to overcome that as he threw a rather unsure pass to WR Quentin Johnston. That pass was intercepted by veteran CB Stephon Gilmore. That ended the game with the Cowboys getting the ball back in Los Angeles territory.
The Chargers will now head to the Arrowhead Stadium next Sunday to take on the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be another tough outing for the LA team and they will hope to bounce back from their loss against the Cowboys as soon as possible.
Fans roast Justin Herbert for a late-game interception against the Cowboys
The Los Angeles Chargers lost a heartbreaker at the SoFi Stadium on Monday. They had the chance to win the game late in the fourth quarter, but QB Justin Herbert threw an interception at a crucial time. That resulted in the Cowboys getting the ball back in the Chargers’ half with a lead and they saw the game out for an impressive win.
Fans on social media blasted Herbert for throwing away the game when they had the chance to win. Some claimed that Herbert is not “Him” whereas others called him an average quarterback. Here are some of the reactions.
Herbert is widely considered one of the best QBs in the NFL. However, the Chargers have failed to make a significant impact in the postseason with Herbert as the team’s starting QB. They will now play the Kansas City Chiefs in their next game.
