The Kansas City Chiefs signed the undrafted wide receiver Justyn Ross back in the 2022 off-season. Ross, who had so much potential, missed the entire 2022 season with an injury. He was trying to kick-start his NFL career with a good 2023 season but now, the Chiefs receiver has gotten into legal trouble.

Ross is accused of dragging a woman through the house in an alleged domestic violence incident which resulted in the Chiefs receiver receiving two misdemeanor charges. According to reports, the alleged victim is mentioned as someone who “is or has been in a dating relationship.”

She suffered minor, unspecified injuries. Furthermore, the Chiefs receiver is also accused of damaging the alleged victim’s several properties, including a laptop, gold bracelet, iPhone, and a computer monitor. The dispatcher revealed that the unnamed woman had to call the cops from a neighbor’s phone since Ross had allegedly damaged her.

According to multiple reports, Ross was arrested on Monday afternoon and was booked into the Johnson County Detention Center in Shawnee, Kansas. Initially, Ross was only booked on one criminal charge for damage to property totaling less than $1000. But now, court records show, Ross is facing two charges, one criminal charge and one domestic battery with no priors.

Ross — who was arrested on Monday afternoon — is now being released on a $2500 bond after he appeared before a judge via Zoom on Tuesday afternoon. The 23-year-old pass catcher pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is scheduled to appear in court again in the 1st week of December.

The Kansas City-based football team told ESPN that they were aware of the incident but didn’t comment on it. Ross’ attorney also hasn’t released a statement about the incident yet.

While leaving prison, Ross said he had no comment on the situation according to the KC Star reporter Jesse Newell. As of now, he is still on the Chiefs roster and the Kansas City-based franchise hasn’t commented on the incident yet.

Despite head coach Andy Reid‘s promises, Justyn Ross hasn’t been a big part of the Chiefs offense in the 2023 NFL season so far. He has played in all 7 of Kansas City’s games but has only caught 3 passes for 34 yards. In the Chiefs’ week 7 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers, he had 0 catches.
