As the NFL star quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently announced his possible return date of December 24th. After being traded to the New York Jets earlier this season, Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury with just two snaps this season.

Since then, Rodgers has been out and has finally announced his return date. During his absence, the Jets lost six games across the 11 weeks of this season. Acknowledging the teams’ bizarre stats this season, sports analyst and former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson has some interesting advice for the soon-to-be returning Rodgers.

The analyst said on Undisputed:

Aaron Rodgers can do whatever he chooses to do with his body and clearly he wants to play. What I would say, though in this situation I haven't had an Achilles or anything like that. But I have known enough athletes that have. Sit down, man! The Jets are done. There's no point in trying to come back.

Johnson believes Rodgers should take a beat and not push to come back so hard. Instead he should focus on next season:

If you could be back in December, that's cool. Don't step on the field though, there's no point. The Jets aren't going anywhere.

What’s the likely return date of Aaron Rodgers returning to the New York Jets?

After recovering from his severe Achilles injury, Rodgers is positive and excited for his return on the field. For the majority of this season, he has been benched as he sustained the injury in the very first week of the 2023 NFL season.

The 39-year-old quarterback had to undergo surgery to repair his Achilles. He has had a speedy recovery though, which helped in re-attaching the tendons. Now that he knows he can take on the starting QB responsibilities, he announced his likely return date of December 24th.

Rodgers even shared that when he is returning for practice, that is by his 40th birthday, dated December 2. This will give him a good 21 days for practice until the scheduled game on December 27th, against the Washington Commanders.
