CeeDee Lamb‘s name has been having a baller of a season as the Dallas Cowboys WR has provided stellar performances in the past few games. His connection with QB Dak Prescott in their latest game against the New York Giants was highly appreciated by the fans and analysts alike. Some of them have even considered him among the top five wide receivers in the league.
However, Keyshawn Johnson does not come under those analysts. Despite acknowledging his form, Johnson remained skeptical about associating him with the top wide receivers of the league. In the recent episode of the show ‘Undisputed’, the former WR and the present-day analyst spoke extensively about why he does not consider Lamb among the top five receivers in the league.
It is hard for me to jump over everybody who has all hit the top because CeeDee Lamb has had three four five straight games. That was ridiculous. So, now what I do is I want to see much like Dak Prescott's situation. The challenges that come up and I don't pooper like Michael terms NFL that everyone is good. No, everyone is not good.
CeeDee Lamb is enjoying his time at the Dallas Cowboys. After the poor loss against the San Francisco 49ers, Lamb had expressed his frustration of not being targeted too often in the match. People thought that this might be the end of Lamb’s career at the Cowboys. Multiple trading speculations were hitting the air.
However, things are much changed now as the WR has hit consecutive four 100+ yards and consecutive three 150+ yards games. Moreover, he got validation from his quarterback as well. Prescott declared him ‘the best WR’ this season.
The Cowboys have eight games left in their hand and Lamb has a record to break. He has opportunities to break Michael Irvin‘s 1,603 yards record for the Dallas team that was set in 1995. If he continues his run at this pace then there are chances that he can break Irvin’s record smoothly.
Is Ceedee Lamb becoming another Dak Prescott?
The problem with CeeDee Lamb can be the same as Dak Prescott‘s. The Cowboys QB has good regular season statistics and a poor record in the playoffs at the same time. He has a horrible record of choking against the top teams. There have been ample instances where he failed to carry the momentum for the Cowboys in crucial fixtures.
Now, the same argument has been put against Lamb as well. Analysts like Johnson believe that if Lamb has to earn a place among the top-tier WRs, then he has to perform against top-tier NFL teams with mighty defense lines. Otherwise, it would be the same situation as Prescott.
When you faced Seattle with big, long corners Devon Witherspoon and Tariq Woolen who are going to try to physically dominate you at the point of attack and at the line of scrimmage, I want to see you push them down and take over that game. I want to see you do it again against Philadelphia. I want to see you Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard and own them and put them in your back pocket and laugh at them at the end of the game.
It is to be seen whether the WR manages to provide good performances in the coming games. The Cowboys have some crucial fixtures and they have to rely on Prescott-Lamb duo to seal them.
