Keyshawn Johnson is an analyst who was also an influential NFL player. The former WR was working with ESPN for a long time now before getting fired quite recently.
ESPN has been on a massive firing spree recently and has terminated many influential employees who have been with them for many decades now. Johnson signed a massive 5-year $18 million deal last season. According to recent reports, the former NFL WR will be able to acquire it all due to his illustrious contract.
There were numerous reasons involved that led to Johnson’s termination. However, ESPN has not mentioned the exact reason yet regarding any on-air personality layoffs this season.
Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported Keyshawn Johnson’s termination and stated that ESPN has fired the former New York Jets WR but the 50-year-old will be able to collect the complete amount of his $18 million deal. “The news isn’t all bad for Johnson as only a year ago, he signed a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $18 million – and he will be able to collect all of it,” Marchand reported.
It is speculated that ESPN has fired many of its top analysts to revamp its entire broadcasting and radio format. They will also be looking to target Pat McAfee for the iconic Pat McAfee Show.

ESPN speculated to replace Keyshawn Johnson with Pat McAfee
Johnson was part of ESPN for many years now. The former Dallas Cowboys WR was a reliable figure in the organization. However, his popularity was entirely contradicted because of his candid and controversial opinions.
Many were happy following his termination. However, most of them tried to figure out the reason behind the unexpected termination. Many reports suggest that ESPN is striving to sign Pat McAfee, who’s under contract with another company.
With so many layoffs occurring together, it is expected that many former ESPN employees will join rival companies to keep working. NFL analyst Max Kellerman was also laid off with Keyshawn Johnson and it is expected that he will replace Shannon Sharpe at the Undisputed.
On the other hand, ESPN has also been rumored to be in contact with Michael Irvin and Shannon Sharpe for the First Take position along with Stephen A. Smith. With so many layoffs occurring together, Keyshawn Johnson has still not commented on his brutal termination.
