The Minnesota Vikings won their third game in a row after beating their division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, on Sunday. It was a great game and the Vikings have now improved to 4-4 after a rough start to the season. They came into the game high on confidence after beating the San Francisco 49ers last week. Vikings’ QB Kirk Cousins was brilliant in their win on Sunday.

However, the win came at a huge cost as Cousins was carted off with a leg injury in the fourth quarter of the game. It was a non-contact injury and Cousins struggled to leave the field on his own. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Cousins is feared to have suffered an Achilles injury. It will probably end his season if it is indeed an Achilles tear.

The Vikings were leading 24-10, which was the final score as well when the injury took place. Cousins was seen hobbling off on his left leg. After sitting on the bench, the quarterback was carted off to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Cousins was in considerable pain due to the injury.

The Vikings might have to play a considerable amount of games without the services of Cousins going forward. The quarterbacking duties will fall onto the shoulders of rookie backup QB Jaren Hall. The Vikings will play the Atlanta Falcons in their next game on October 5.

Thinking about our quarterback; went out today again as he has for most of the 2023 season and played the quarterback position as well as anybody in our league and just continued to build and build and build.
O’Connell told the reporters after the game
We are fearing an Achilles injury. The severity of that I do not know at this point, but I know that is what our fear is in the moment, and we will confirm that as soon as possible.

The Vikings won the game, 24-10, but the loss of Cousins for the rest of the season will hurt them. Cousins was having a tremendous year so far. He had 16 passing touchdowns and five interceptions. He was third in the league with passing yards with 2,057.
