Kirk Cousins, who may have played his last game for the Vikings, won’t turn down an opportunity to play for Bill Belichick
Belichick recently met with the Falcons for an interview and will again have a chat in a few days.

The 2023 NFL season is almost coming to an end, and with it, several players and coaches will become available for pickup in free agency. On top of that list will undeniably be Kirk Cousins, who could eventually part ways with the Minnesota Vikings. And when he does, the veteran quarterback has the desire to be coached by Bill Belichick.
Even though there’s no guarantee the Vikings will move away from Cousins, there is always the possibility of the unexpected. His contract ends in March, and he will be free to choose any team that would provide a suitable contract.
Unlike the 35-year-old, Belichick mutually ended his tenure with the New England Patriots after 24 years in Boston, winning six Super Bowls. He is currently job hunting and is one of the favorites to take over the reins at the Atlanta Falcons.
If Cousins does end up leaving Minnesota and joining another team, he wants to link up with Belichick.
I'm not going to turn down an opportunity to play with a future Hall of Fame coach, but we'll have to see where March leads. It's just a lot of unknowns right now.Kirk Cousins told in an exclusive interview with CBS Sports‘ Isabel Gonzalez
Kirk Cousins has no plans to retire anytime soon
The four-time Pro Bowler’s season ended very early. During the divisional rivalry game against the Green Bay Packers in October, Cousins tore his Achilles tendon. He has been in rehab ever since, only making a special appearance in the Vikings’ last game of the season to cheer them on.
His only objective is to get ready for the future, because, judging by his comments, he will be sticking around for a while longer.
I certainly want to play a few more years of football, so I'm hoping that in the remaining years left before me and my football career, I won't be sitting around watching playoff football.Cousins added
And he would be delighted if he got the chance to play under Bill Belichick because he has massive praise for the 71-year-old.
I have great respect for him [Bill Belichick] as a coach, like everyone else in pro football. I mean, if you go to that many Super Bowls and win that many Super Bowls, go to that many conference championship games. You know, he has that defensive production that he has had for years and years. It says it all.
There’s still a big mystery surrounding where Belichick eventually ends up. He recently met with the Falcons for an interview and will again have a chat in a few days. Atalanta does have a quarterback problem. Their two available quarterbacks, Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinckie, haven’t lived up to the standards.
If the Cousins decide to leave Minnesota and sign with the Falcons, he will instantly be the starter on the team. However, there’s also the possibility of his ACL taking a toll on his performance in the future.
