The Baltimore Ravens failed to seal the deal against the Kansas City Chiefs as Lamar Jackson ended up coming short. The defending Super Bowl champions put up a tough fight as the Ravens, who had a great run this season, could not keep up and collapsed in clutch time.

It was the interception thrown by Jackson in the 4th quarter that put an end to the home team’s aspirations of beating Patrick Mahomes and Co. to progress further.

Lamar Jackson was looking for his receivers to throw the ball to on a 2nd & 10 play in the 4th quarter with a little under 7 minutes to go in the game. As the pocket around him began to collapse, the quarterback saw Isaiah Likely wave to him that he was wide open and with a clear path to the red zone. This was it! Lamar Jackson believed it was going to be a touchdown play.

What he failed to see was defensive back Deon Bush, who was running across with a slant route and managed to be right there to catch Jackson’s pass. This was it! It put the morale of the entire Ravens fanbase and the team out. Lamar Jackson was disappointed in himself and the quarterback could not help but take his frustration out on himself as he threw his helmet down after this play.

Patrick Mahomes outplayed Lamar Jackson in the AFC Conference finals

Once again, Patrick Mahomes proved that when it comes to being consistent and clutch in the playoffs, there is nobody who can beat him in the NFL. Jackson ended the game with 272 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He rushed for 54 yards but failed to have any scoring plays tonight.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, managed to record a passing touchdown thrown by Mahomes to Travis Kelce in the first quarter and a rushing touchdown from Isaiah Pacheco.

With this, the Baltimore Ravens are kicked out of playoff contention. The Chiefs will now progress to the Super Bowl and play the winner of the NFC Championship matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. Despite the Ravens Super Bowl aspirations coming to an end, it was a great year for Lamar Jackson and Co.

The team ended up having a dominant run throughout the regular season and beating the top teams across the NFL by a margin of at least two touchdowns. This was unprecedented in the league, as nobody had ever done this. Super Bowl win or not, Lamar Jackson is likely to end his season with the MVP award which will be given in the coming week.
