Leroy Butler's Lambeau Leap
LeRoy Butler is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. He spent 12 seasons as a Packer, a 4 time Pro Bowler, a Super Bowl Champion and now a Hall of Famer but perhaps what he is best known for is being the 1st to Leap the Lambeau.
Leroy Butler did the Lambeau Leap in 1993 for the first time and since then it’s a Packer tradition. A fumble recovery celebration turned tradition
In the montage most players doing the Lambeau Leap are offensive players but of you may have noticed the man behind Packers famous tradition was himself a defender so however was a defender himself. Butler is safety and did the Lambeau leap after scoring the touch down after recovering a fumble and a defender’s iconic celebration is now emulated by some of the best offensive players in the NFL.
But Let’s not forget that inventing the Lambeau leap is not what got Butler into the Hall of Fame but his work as one of the best Pacler defendor did.
Although some say that to make it into the Hall of Fame it’s necessary that the history of NFL cannot be told without you and the story of one of the most iconic traditon is part of NFL history and it can’t be told without it’s inventor LeRoy Butler.
