When the Giants fans found out, they would be facing the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round, they would not have guessed the humiliation they were about to endure during and after the game. Nick Sirianni‘s team absolutely dominated their NFC East division rivals in the much-anticipated rematch. This is the first playoff victory for the Eagles since 2018.
The Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was once an MVP favorite before he went down with injuries, had a solid game as he threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns and finished the game with a 112.2 passer rating. Furthermore, the Eagles’ former fifth-round draft pick RB Kenneth Gainwell chose a perfect time to have a break-out game as he carried the rock for 112 yards and one touchdown while averaging 9.3 yards per carry.
Thanks to the genius use of draft picks by the Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman, the Eagles currently might have the best roster in the whole league. It was evident in this game against the G-Men since their no.1 wide receiver AJ Brown just had three catches in the night and yet they still put up 38 points. Their star tight-end Dallas Goedert, who was dealing with injuries, showed up big time in the playoffs.
The Eagles as a team impressed a lot of people and proved to everyone that they’re serious contenders for the Super Bowl this year. However, the Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has caught the attention of many people with his impressive season, including the NBA superstar LeBron James.
LeBron James hails Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
The LA Lakers star forward LeBron James is an ardent football fan and follows the game very closely. He used to be a Cowboys fan till recently, but he switched his allegiance to his hometown team Cleveland Browns after he didn’t like how the Dallas team’s owner Jerry Jones handled some moral issues.
Nevertheless, James was glued to the NFL postseason game and couldn’t help but praise the greatness of the third-year quarterback Jalen Hurts. Moreover, he also called out the haters who doubted Hurts despite an MVP-level season.
“Yeah like they were saying. Anybody would look great at QB for the Eagles.. yeah ooook. HATERS MAN!! Jalen Hurts is SPECIAL,” tweeted LeBron James while the Eagles were dominating the Giants on the football field.
The Giants only managed to score one time in the whole game, but they’ve already overachieved with the talent they had on the roster. On the other side, the Eagles will now wait for the result of the second NFC divisional round matchup between the Cowboys and the 49ers to know who will they host in the NFC Championship game on January 29.
