53-year-old man tragically passed away at Gillette Stadium during the Patriots-Dolphins game on Sunday after suffering a ‘medical event’

The New England Patriots, led by their franchise quarterback Mac Jones, hosted their AFC East division rivals Miami Dolphins at their homefield Gillette Stadium. The Patriots suffered a loss against their division rivals in a close game. During the game, an unfortunate incident happened as a man tragically passed away after suffering a medical event.
The 53-year-old man, who was identified as Dale Mooney, was seated 300-level inside the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, died during the final quarter of the game between the Patriots and the Dolphins. According to the police statement, the 53-year-old man suffered a ‘medical event’ around 11 p.m. and had to be transported to a hospital.
Mooney was taken to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital by emergency medical technicians, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. The Norfolk District Attorney’s office released a statement on Monday morning and said that they are currently investigating the unfortunate death of Dale Mooney.
“The matter remains under active investigation. The District Attorney’s Office has been informed that the autopsy is not scheduled to be conducted today,” the statement said. “There are no charges in place at this time.” The Patriots haven’t commented on the incident yet.
Detectives are checking the CCTV footage and video recordings and are interviewing people seated next to Mooney as part of the investigations per reports. Furthermore, Mooney’s wife told 7NEWS that, to her knowledge, her husband did not have any heart condition.
Mooney was reportedly a diehard Patriots fan and was a season ticket holder for the last three decades. In a separate incident, a couple of Patriots fans saved the life of a person who went into cardiac arrest during the game.

In a separate incident at the Gillette Stadium, two local firefighters became heroes as they quickly jumped into action to save a fan, who went into cardiac arrest during the game between the Patriots and the Dolphins on Sunday.
Anthony Colella of the Johnston Fire Department and Mark McCullough of the Needham Fire Department saved a fan’s life by quickly jumping into action and giving CPR to a person who suffered a cardiac arrest at the game.
NFL Network reporter Bridget Condon shared the identities of the firefighters on her social media account.“Forget the football. This is the best thing I’ve heard all day,” wrote Condon. Fans hailed both Patriots fans as heroes after they saved a life with their swift action.
