Despite having a good start to the NFL 2023-24 campaign, the Baltimore Ravens will be concerned about the injury problems that they are going through. They bagged a crucial win against the Cincinnati Bengals, however, their win was marred by two injuries. Tight End (TE) Mark Andrews suffered a setback on his ankle while Odell Beckham JR had a blow on his shoulder. Both left the ground and did not return to the field.

While Beckham’s injury looked not too serious, Andrews’ looked to be season-ending. The TE will go through an MRI on Friday and his condition will be cleared. As things stand right now, the players of the Ravens squad are not expecting a comeback for the TE. The head coach already made a statement and extended his prayers to his tight end.

Coach John Harbaugh said via the team’s video:

It looks like a season-ending injury,"Our prayers with be with Mark. No one cares more about the team and being there for the guys than Mark Andrews. So, this is going to be hard for him, but we’re going to be there for him all the way.

The incident took place during the seventh attack of the game. The Bengals man Logan Wilson took Andrews down with a controversial hip-drop challenge. The TE got a nine-yard gain when he was tackled by the Bengals’ man. His left leg came under Wilson’s full body.

Last year, Tony Pollard, the running back of the Dallas Cowboys fractured his fibula and tore his ligament after being subjected to a hip-drop challenge. He required surgery to get back to the field. The injuries did not have a long impact, however, that ended the season of Pollard. This year the challenge also had the nearly same impact. ‘

Lamar Jackson wished the best for injured Andrews

Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews are very good friends. They not only have a good connection on the turf but also they share good relations off-the-field. After Andrews was subjected to the injury, Jackson wished him a fast recovery. In addition to this, he shared some special moments of both of them.

Lamar Jackson said after the game:

That’s who I entered the league with. We’ve been bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly, whatever you want to call it. It’s very tough because that’s my boy. That’s like receiver one sometimes. For him to go out the first quarter, he’s been having a remarkable year. . . . That’s tough, man. We’ve got to do it without him. We’ve got Charlie. We’ve got guys who are going to step up, but that’s tough.
