The NFL 2023-24 season came to an end with the Kansas City Chiefs lifting the Super Bowl title for consecutive years. However, the discussions are not coming to an end. Brock Purdy is at the center of all discussions as he is receiving some criticism for not winning the game against the Chiefs.

The Brock Purdy hate makes no sense to me.

Purdy had a great regular season with the 49ers as he broke multiple franchise records with the team. However, he did not have a great postseason with the team as he was subjected to multiple interceptions. His only impactful moment came against the Detroit Lions as he found Brandon Aiyuk with a great touchdown pass. He did have a clean game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it was not enough to win the Championship against the Chiefs.

During the season, Purdy also received some sort of criticism even during the regular season. Cam Newton, the former signal caller called him a game manager and not a game changer. He further stated that he was not even the best offensive player on his team. Despite tweaking his statement a bit, Newton stood by what he actually said and claimed that he did not intend to spread any hatred against the quarterback. In addition, he noted that he spread mere facts.

Brock Purdy did not mind much about the criticisms that he faced

Brock Purdy stood firm against all the criticisms that he suffered. He showed immense maturity in dealing with the game manager comment. With a smile on his face, the QB said that he would love to be a game manager if it helps his team to win on the turf.

Purdy said ahead of the Super Bowl game:

I think it’s sort of funny, just because you know we’re winning…. I think over time I might get some respect.

Having come agonizingly close to winning the Super Bowl title, Brock Purdy and his team will strive to change the scenario in the coming season. However, there is still a long way to go.
