After being undrafted in 2021, Trill Williams was signed by the New Orleans Saints on a free transfer but did not have a successful campaign. The Dolphins claimed him this season and he had shown his quality to Mike McDaniel, with reports claiming that he was close to being a backup in the cornerback for the franchise in the upcoming season.

All of that will have to change now, as it expected that he will majority of the 2022 season and only has a chance to return the following year. After the injury, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel spoke on the youngster who had done exceedingly well during the offseason.

“It hurt the hearts of the whole team, myself included. You hate to see an injury like that for a guy who has been working as diligently as Trill has,” McDaniel said to the reporters after the fixture.

“He was an example of a player who, early on, I could tell that — in a healthy way — he wasn’t totally happy where he was in terms of depth. You want to talk about a player handling it the right way, transferring that energy to the point that he’s been making plays daily on the ball. And you can tell from his teammates how pumped they were for him. So, you know, it’s one of the hard things about the profession that I really struggle with,” Mike McDaniel finished off.
