The Dallas Cowboys hit the jackpot when linebacker Micah Parsons fell into their lap during the 2021 NFL Draft, despite them trading down. He has been a reckless force in the Cowboys’ defensive unit ever since he joined the franchise. He is a fan favorite in Dallas, but his recent actions have got fans questioning his loyalty to the Cowboys.
Micah Parsons, a Pennsylvania native, has a soft spot for the Philadelphia sports teams. Despite being their division rivals, Parsons has praised the Philadelphia Eagles many times. And now, the 2-time All-Pro linebacker came under heavy fire for repping the 76ers in their NBA playoff matchup against the Boston Celtics. He showed up at the game wearing Tyrese Maxey‘s jersey.
The Cowboys fans called out the 2-time Pro Bowl linebacker for supporting the Philadelphia-based sports franchise. Additionally, the Eagles fans claimed that Parsons in hinting that he would join the Eagles soon after his rookie contract expires with the Cowboys. However, Parsons seems to have a valid reason for wearing the 76ers jersey.
He was born and raised in the state of Pennsylvania and he played collegiate ball at Penn State University. So, it should be no surprise that he would support Philadelphia sports teams despite playing for the Dallas-based football team. Besides, Parsons claims he was just showing support to Tyrese Maxey, who is originally from Texas. “Maxey from Texas lol!!” tweeted Parsons after some Eagles’ fans claimed that he wants to get out of Dallas.

Micah Parsons early favorite to win DPOY award in 2023 season

The Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons is the early favorite in the betting odds to win the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award. He is one of the three players who is ranked above the 2022 DPOY winner, Nick Bosa.
The star linebacker is now bulking up and trying to transition from LB to a full-time defensive end. According to reports, Parsons played 78.2% of his snaps as an edge rusher, making him a full-time pass rusher.
“It’s hard battling 300-pound guys at 245 pounds every week,” Parsons said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “So, I’m just trying to put (on) five pounds of muscle. Just eating right and just living right.”
The 6’3″ LB Micah Parsons has registered 26.5 sacks in his 2 seasons playing as a blitzing linebacker. If he plays as a defensive end in 2023, those numbers will certainly go up.
The 23-year-old linebacker finished second in DPOY voting in 2021 and 2022. If Parsons stays healthy, he has a strong chance of winning the prestigious award for the first time in his career in the upcoming season.
