“Feels like it has some racist undertones!” – Michael Lombardi wanting Raiders HC Antonio Pierce to ‘shut up’ sparks WILD reactions from NFL fans on social media

The newly hired head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, Antonio Pierce might have found himself in a controversy. The HC has received support from multiple players from the team after he was selected as the head coach. After the departure of the former head coach Josh McDaniels, Pierce took charge of the Raiders as the interim head coach. He soon rose through the ranks by providing success to the team. Under his coaching, the team managed to win against the Chiefs in a regular season game. Hence, the management decided to give him a permanent contract as the head coach.

But not everyone is pleased with the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. He was recently slammed by the former NFL GM Michael Lombardi, who claimed that the HC had a wrong idea of the Raiders’s way. In his podcast, The GM Shuffle, the former general manager took a jibe at Pierce.

Lombardi said about Pierce on The GM Shuffle podcast:

This guy is driving me crazy. Can he just shut up? Why won’t somebody in the Raiders tell him to shut up? The ‘Raider Way’ isn’t a word. It’s about ‘this a prototype of the player we want at this position. This is a prototype of a player we want at that position.’ That’s the Raider Way. What’s so comical is what he’s talking about is because he’s from Compton, he thinks he knows the Raider Way. It’s a joke.

However, the GM did not get much support from the Raiders’ fans. They instead exhibited their discontent over the remark that Lombardi made.

The newly appointed head coach has earned respect not only from players but also from the fans. They liked how he provided results to the franchise that was dismantled halfway through the season. Pierce instilled discipline and with his way, the team managed to earn a decent position last season.

In the next season, the Raiders will be counted among the dark horses. Pierce is already busy in putting his best efforts to achieve success on the gridiron. Considering all these, the fans slammed Lombardi regarding his opinion. Some even accused him of racism. Check out some of the comments that they made.

Despite the furore, Pierce has not responded to what Lombardi stated. It remains to be seen whether these controversial statements spark any heated reactions among the concerned.
