“His entitlement has ruined the team,” Michael Lombardi BLASTS QB Russell Wilson over a broken Broncos locker room
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson being hired by the Broncos is probably the worst thing to have happened in their entire history. The Super Bowl-winning QB was a big bust in Denver as the team failed to gain any momentum.
Wilson’s trade also affected the teams’ overall morale which resulted in a broken locker room after consecutive losses that outshone their playoff ambition.
The final nail in the coffin was the hammering received by the Rams on Christmas Eve which made the new owners make some drastic changes and immediately fired HC Nathaniel Hackett who was hired at the start of the season.
Pat McAfee was in conversation with Michael Lombardi on the Pat McAfee Show where they were discussing the Broncos locker room and how it can be fixed for future endeavors.
Lombardi was clear and brutal with his answer and believes that Wilson is the catalyst for optimal functioning of the Broncos. The Broncos QB is a star in the team and that shouldn’t be the case. He should be like just another player on the team.
“If I were the GM I’d have a meeting with Russell Wilson & talk about how his entitlement has ruined the team.. somebody has to have a man to man conversation with him” Michael Lombardi stated on the Pat McAfee Show.
Russell Wilson takes blame for Nathaniel Hackett’s termination
Russell Wilson was quick to address the situation when Hackett was fired and believes that he is somewhat responsible for the termination of their 42-year-old HC.
“The reality is I wish I could have played better for him, too,” Wilson said Wednesday. “I wish I could have played at the standard, the level that I’ve always played at, know how to play at.”
The 32-year-old QB agrees that he has fallen short of his usual standards and is having a miserable first season with the Broncos. Statistically, Wilson is the worst quarterback in the NFL currently, and no one’s even close to him.
While some criticize Wilson for being the problem instead of Hackett who was fired. The Broncos QB is still optimistic and believes that he can bring Super Bowls to Denver.
The Broncos currently have a 4-11 record in the NFL after 15 games which makes this season a complete failure for them. However, they would still like to end the season on a high with a win in their last two games against the Chiefs and the Chargers.
