The 2023 NFL Draft is just weeks away now. Fans will have their new class of players trying to make their mark on the biggest stage of football. Like clockwork, everyone is eager to see which quarterback goes first overall to the Carolina Panthers. However, this time around, fans and teams will be on the lookout for Mr. Irrelevant as well because of Brock Purdy.
With the draft coming, football fans are also eagerly waiting for the fantasy draft. Those who play it religiously know that it’s one of the most important days of the year. People map out the stats of every player and project their performance for the coming season and then select a championship-winning team. For those less experienced, ESPN’s Mike Clay, who is a fantasy football guru, releases a list of top players so that they can draft their team accordingly
On top of the list, Mike Clay has placed the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. Clay believes Jefferson will have the most impact on fantasy teams given that he just won the Offensive Player of the Year award. The Vikings receiver has been the best in the league ever since he joined three years back, so it was a no-brainer to have him be the first pick.

Justin Jefferson’s girlfriend is Tianna Harris and he was selected 22nd overall by the Vikings in the 2020 NFL draft. Right out of the gate, Jefferson became one of the best receivers in the league as he set the record for most receiving yards in a season by a rookie with 1,400 (The record was broken the following season by Ja’Marr Chase). In his second year, the 23-year-old had 108 receptions for 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He one-upped himself as he amassed 1,809 yards on 128 receptions for 8 touchdowns. Jefferson’s incredible performance in 2022 saw him as the NFL’s receptions leader and receiving yards leader. He won the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year award as well and was a finalist for the league MVP Award, but lost to Patrick Mahomes.
With the performances Justin Jefferson has put up in his first three seasons, there is no doubt that he will be a perennial Pro Bowler and land in the Hall of Fame, and retire as one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the league. Let’s see if Jefferson can beat his record in the coming season or not!
