“They aren’t going to do a deal, just to do a deal”: Mike Garafolo claims Orlando Brown Jr & Chiefs are NOT even close to extension

Orlando Brown Jr

Orlando Claude Brown Jr. is a talented offensive tackle who features for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. After delivering innumerable impressive performances during his college football days at Oklahoma, he was roped in by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft.

It seems like football runs in the Brown family. He is the son of Orlando Brown who played for the Baltimore Ravens as an offensive tackle. As far as Jr. is concerned, after spending some time with the Ravens, he was roped in by the Chiefs in 2021.

“Not expecting Orlando Brown Jr for the start of training camp”: Mike Garafolo

The Kansas City-based franchise used the $16.6 million franchise tag for Brown. However, Jr. hasn’t signed the tag as of yet. This means that the Chiefs have until July 15 to structure a deal with Brown Jr. Commenting on the Orlando-Kansas situation, Mike Garafolo had a few things to say.

Orlando Brown Jr and his representation have spoken to the Chiefs regarding a potential contract extension which must be done before Friday otherwise he can only play on the one year franchise tag. I spoke to Jammal Brown and he said that the two sides are no way near closing a deal,” Mike said as per NFLTotalAccess.

They are not going to do a deal, just to do a deal,” Mike claimed, adding that Brown wants to be paid at the top of the left tackle market which is $23 million per year, or more in line with the top of the right tackle market. “Now Brown moved from the right side to the left side, he wanted to make that move which is why he was traded from Baltimore to the Kansas City.”

I am not expecting Orlando Brown for the start of training camp or any time during training camp. He hasn’t signed the tag so he cannot be fined if he isn’t there and even week 1 is in question,” he added.
