Mike Greenberg criticized the Los Angeles Chargers for potentially wasting the career of their quarterback, Justin Herbert. During the game against the Dallas Cowboys in March, Herbert was unable to prevent his team from falling to a 3-2 record. He was dealing with a fractured finger and had a relatively quiet game. In the fourth quarter, he was intercepted, and his team couldn’t secure a victory. After the game, Greenberg discussed these events and took a jab at the Chargers.

They are wasting the career of a hall-of-fame quarterback. Justin Herbert is definitively a Hall of Fame talent. Think about if he was in Miami with Mike McDaniel right now,” the analyst said.

It’s evident that Greenberg drew a comparison between Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa. Tua is currently with the Miami Dolphins, and he’s in the best form of his career. He’s now regarded as one of the frontrunners for the MVP award, as he’s one of the top-performing quarterbacks this season. Under the guidance of Mike McDaniel, he has thrived and excelled this season.

Justin Herbert has put up strong numbers with 1,333 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions in his five games for the Chargers. He’s completed 68.7% of his passes (125 out of 186 attempts) and is currently ranked 6th among quarterbacks.

The QB took all the responsibilities behind the loss against the Cowboys. Addressing the press in the post-match presentation, he said, “I thought those receivers, they made plays, and the offensive line, they’re going up against a really good front seven, and they battled well today, and they gave me plenty of time to be able to get the ball off,” he said.

“I feel horrible for the guys for the way that the game went, but we’ll have to be better and learn from it,” he further added.

Tua Tgovailoa’s performance under Mike McDaniel

Throughout the season, Tua Tagovailoa has consistently been in top form. He’s currently ranked third among quarterbacks, having thrown for 1,876 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. His QBR stands at an impressive 74.7, and he’s a strong contender for the MVP award. Additionally, he has guided his team to an impressive 5-1 record.

The question that remains is whether Tagovailoa can secure the NFL MVP award by the end of the season. His outstanding performance so far has certainly put him in contention for the prestigious title, but only time will tell if he can clinch the coveted award. Football fans and analysts alike will be closely watching his journey as the season unfolds.
