The Dallas Cowboys stunned their fanbase with their 2022 NFL Draft first-round selection. The Cowboys selected Offensive Lineman Tyler Smith, owner and operator Jerry Jones has publicly stated that the OL was his preferred pick.

Tyler Smith is no stranger to the Dallas area, he attended the North Crowley High School where he played high school ball. After his selection, the OL stated, “I played tackle in college but I’m willing to play wherever they put me.”

In their latest promotional video, the front office of the Cowboys had high praise for Tyler Smith, GM and owner Jerry Jones said, “So I think it’s fair for us to say that we graded him as a first-round player.“

Tyler Smith has “a lot of elite traits” and has already been compared to last year’s defensive rookie of the year Micah Parsons who had a stellar season. Head Coach of the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy when asked about Smith had this to say.

“He has a tremendous ceiling, we are excited about that,” the team will likely position him at left tackle, Smith also has a great mentor in eight-time Prow Bowler Tyron Smith. Jerry Jones while introducing the team’s first-round pick described it as “eerie to me, some of the similarities,” between Tyler Smith and Tyron Smith.
