Mike McDaniel is currently preparing his team, the Miami Dolphins, for the upcoming NFL season. Amidst his hectic schedule, the head coach took some time off to catch Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics at FTX Arena. Before the game, McDaniel hyped the Miami crowd in his own style.

The second-year head coach got on the court and hyped up the Miami fans with music and chants. He also waved around a towel that had “Beat Boston” written on it. The message was loud and clear. The Heat players responded to the message by becoming the 1st 8-seed team in NBA history to win a playoff game with a margin of 25+ points as they dominated the Celtics and beat them with the final score of 128-102.

The Heat came into the game leading 2-0 in the 7-game series since they won the previous games that took place in Boston and now they are one step closer to reaching the NBA finals. The Miami-based basketball team’s star forward Jimmy Butler put up 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in the important game. Furthermore, Miami’s guard Gabe Vincent scored 29 points, which helped them take a commanding 3-0 lead against the Celtics.

Game 4 of the 7-game series would take place in Miami on Tuesday. The Heat would look to sweep the Celtics and reach the NBA finals. If the Heat ends up reaching the finals, they would face the winner of the Western Conference Finals. Currently, the Denver Nuggets have a 3-0 lead against the Los Angeles Lakers in WCF and the Nuggets would go through to the finals with just one more victory.

The Miami Dolphins shocked everyone last season when they hired the former San Francisco 49ers run game coordinator Mike McDaniel as their new head coach. And now, after one full year in Miami, McDaniel has won the hearts of lots of fans but could end up on the hot seat next year if things went south in the upcoming season.

The Dolphins went 9-8 last year and managed to clinch a playoff spot. But this year the AFC East has gotten tough with the arrival of Aaron Rodgers in New York. The Jets acquired Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 off-season.

Nevertheless, the Dolphins have also gotten better with the addition of star players, including the 6-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey. If their QB Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy, the Dolphins certainly have a shot at winning the division and clinching a playoff spot.

If McDaniel failed to top the 2022 season, the Miami fans will turn on him quickly. Therefore, the 2023 season is a massive one in the career of the 40-year-old head coach.
