Attracting controversy should be the lowest on the agenda for the Denver Broncos, but unfortunately, their new head coach, Sean Payton’s feud with the New York Jets’ OC Nathaniel Hackett and indirectly with Aaron Rodgers, has created a perfect mess. Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin took a cheeky jab at the situation.
In a recent interview with veteran sports writer Peter King, Tomlin stated that he is eagerly waiting for the clash between the two teams in the new season. King afterward revealed Tomlin’s statement on the Dan Patrick Show: “I hope that game between the Broncos and Jets is on National TV,” King claimed. “I want to watch that football game.”
This following development comes after Sean Payton lashed out at the Broncos’ poor 2022 campaign. According to USA Today’s Jarrett Bell, the 59-year-old blamed his predecessor, Nathaniel Hackett, calling it the “worst coaching job in history.” The Super Bowl winner with the New Orleans Saints then targeted the Jets, where Hackett is the offensive coordinator.
New Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is familiar with Hackett’s work from their time at Green Bay, defended his colleague. “He (Payton) needs to keep my coach’s name out of his mouth,” the 10-time Pro Bowler fired a warning. Although Payton has tried to patch up the situation since the incident, saying,” I had my fox hat on, not my coaching hat,” the NFL fandom, like Mike Tomlin, can’t wait to see the two sides go head-to-head.
Nathaniel Hackett responds to Sean Payton’s comments

A few days have passed since the unwarranted comments made by Sean Payton about Nathaniel Hackett. The Jets new offensive coach finally responded to all the attacks. After their latest training camp concluded, reporters asked Hackett whether he believed that Payton broke the code of criticism.
“I do,” the 43-year-old replied. He claimed the Broncos coach did not issue a private apology to him either. But he also revealed that he was expecting something similar. “very expected. You knew he was going to handle it that way.”
However, he did not anticipate the comments during the offseason but rather when they faced each other in the league. “It’s unfortunate that it had to happen,” Hackett said.“I was probably more surprised that it happened now. Was expecting them in Week 5.”
They won’t have to wait for too long as sides face each other on Week 5 (9 October) Prime Time.
