Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck was drafted no.1 overall in 2012 NFL draft as they moved on from Peyton Manning, the Colts were very high on Luck and they were not wrong as in six seasons with the Colts, Luck compiled 4 All Pro selections, 23,671 passing yards, 171 passing touchdowns, 1,590 rushing yards and another 14 scores on the ground without even counting his work in the playoffs these numbers if persistent over few more years with a ring or two in between would have made Luck a surefire Hall of Famer.
As Indianapolis Colts look to begin a new era with their new QB Matt Ryan, their 4th starting QB since the infamous Andrew Luck decision to retire. Colts fan and football fans in general were disappointed when one of the most talented QB’s to ever set foot in a football field walked away in the prime of his football career aged 29.
Andrew Luck story as podcast
So his shock retirement has been an enigma that has haunted NFL and the Colts ever since but now there may be an answer to the question in a new 6 episode podcast hosted by Zak Keefer who covers the Colts for the Athletic. Keefer was recently on Good Morning Football discussing his new podcast which takes a deep dive into the career, the retirement and life since then.
Luck himself won’t be part of the podcast but people close to him including David Shaw his former coach at Stanford, a man luck is still close to today, who believes that the Colts failed his forming a right team around Luck and that may have been a factor in Luck walking off into the sunset in his prime.
This podcast may give us some clues to what went on but we can only know for sure when Luck who has stayed away from the spotlight since his retirement ever comes out of the shadows to speak about it.
