Earlier in 2021, two New York football fans filed a lawsuit against the Jets and Giants for “fraudulently” using New York in their names. The lawsuit demanded $4 billion in punitive damages and $2 billion in monetary damages.
The lawsuit, which was first filed in January 2022, demanded that both the Jets and the Giants leave New Jersey and play in New York by 2025. However, the lawsuit had minor changes in April and just asked the team to drop New York from their names.
Both the Jets and the Giants have been playing in East Rutherford, New Jersey for decades and the Fans consider it false advertising and a deceptive process. According to the lawsuit, the defendants’ actions have caused the plaintiff and the class, which is made up of all Giants and Jets supporters who reside in New York, to experience “mental and emotional injury, including sorrow, sadness, and anxiety.”
And now, attorneys for the defendants and the plaintiffs Abdiell Suero and Maggie Wilkins submitted court documents in Manhattan Federal Court approving the voluntary dismissal. This act comes after a federal judge scorched the plaintiffs last few weeks ago. “A reasonable consumer would necessarily realize – before stepping on the train at Penn Station or driving through the Lincoln Tunnel – that he was, in fact, heading to New Jersey. Therefore, [the teams] could not have ‘caused’ plaintiffs to attend a football game at MetLife Stadium,” wrote federal judge Barbara Ross in her judgment.
New York teams, the Jets and Giants are eating Ws

The New York football fans have suffered for a long time as the Jets haven’t made the playoff for more than a decade and the Giants haven’t won a playoff game in the last 10 years. And also, the third New York team Buffalo Bills has one of the worst records in the NFL, as they have lost 4 Super Bowls in a row.
However, New York is turning the franchise around as the Buffalo Bills are consistently knocking on the doors of the playoffs and the Giants have finally clinched a playoff spot for the first time in more than six years.
The New York Jets haven’t won anything remarkable yet, but they have almost completed their roster, which they have been building for a long time, and just a decent QB away from being legit contenders in the AFC.
It doesn’t matter what team the New Yorkers choose, but all the NFL fans in New York are gonna have some good times shortly as the Jets, Giants, and Bills are all finally getting back on track to their winning ways.
