Analyst Nick Wright hammered Joe Burrow for his abysmal performance this season. The analyst went far and said that the Bengals team needs to bench Burrow for upcoming fixtures. He also slammed the Bengals’ quarterback for delivering the best when it was needed.
“Of course, he is been the worst quarterback in the league. And I do not think he is, I think Joe is awesome but look at the numbers. We are quarter the way of the season, can we show the numbers please? He is last or second of last or fourth of last in everything. Thanks to Zach Wilson’s monstrous performance yesterday,” Nick Wright said on First Things First.
The analyst further added, “Joe has now the lowest passer rating in football. As I said on Friday, I am not worried about his Achilles because of the calf. I am worried about the rest of the body. In the game on Sunday, he got his ass kicked.”
He further added, “You got a franchise quarterback and you are putting him in jeopardy and he is not helping. This is franchise malpractice. You are getting not of the benefits, not of the risk.”
Joe Burrow is in real jeopardy. In four matches, Burrow wasn’t clearly at his best. He hardly created any threat to the opponent’s defense. In three out of four games, the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL failed to register a touchdown. In the last game, Burrow failed to provide a touchdown pass. He is being compared to the ‘accidental quarterback Zach Wilson. who, despite playing badly, registered four touchdowns compared to Burrow’s two in the league. The latter was also intercepted twice.
The reason behind Joe Burrow’s failure
Burrow has been suffering from injuries. He was subjected to a serious calf injury in the team’s training session. He missed all the preseason games and was also absent from the team’s training.

The QB directly came back in the season opener against the Cleveland Browns. He played poorly and the much-impacting absence from the training sessions had been reflected in the performance.
In the second game also the player suffered an injury on the same calf. His performance was deeply impacted by that. Injuries have made Burrow’s journey difficult. Presently, the QB is fighting two battles. One with his injuries and the other with his form. He desperately needs team management and his teammates behind him at this point.
