‘Not a ton of great memories,’ Aidan Hutchinson on growing up as a Lions fan

This year’s No.2 pick Aidan Hutchinson was over the moon as he took a walk around the practice facility of the team that he was a fan of growing up, the very same team that he is now a member of, the Detroit Lions.
Aidan is itching to begin his NFL career in his own hometown, however, he reflects on the rough memories of being a Detroit Lions fan. “Not a ton of great memories. We went through the 0-16 season when I was growing up, I’ve been to a couple of Lions games before, and the atmosphere is just great.”
“It seems like a wild dream”: Aidan Hutchinson on being roped in by the Lions

He describes the environment of the arena during Lions home games as “great”.He added, “When the Lions are winning ballgames, it’s like. ‘Happy wife, happy life.’ The fans are just so into it. I just hope that when we’ve got the right pieces going, I think the coaches are right, we can start to get this ball rolling a little bit.“
Aidan went to the Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. It is adjacent to the practice facility of the Lions, as soon as he heard his name called, he said that a lot of his teammates from the Lions reached out to him and expressed their excitement about having him be a part of the organization.
Aidan, however, is yet to settle down and is busy shopping for houses in Motor City. “I’m still waiting on it, I was just walking around the building today with my family and it’s just weird because growing up as a Michigan guy, I’m around Detroit sports so much and to think that I’m a Lion, it seems like a wild dream to me, but now, it’s kind of come true. So, it’s wild, but I’m soaking it all in and I’m sure one of these days it’s gonna hit me for sure.”
Living in the Michigan area will lead to a relatively smooth transition into the league for the star Defensive End. The Pistons have secured an amazing defensive player in the form of Hutchinson, the team is in a rebuilding phase now, however, with a good coach who can change the team culture, the Lions can become a force to be reckoned with.
