The Cincinnati Bengals continued their golden run this season as they managed to overcome the Baltimore Ravens challenge in the NFL Wild Card Round on Monday at the Paul Brown Stadium. The Bengals recorded a 24-17 victory and kept their hopes alive for a Super Bowl.
The Cincinnati Bengals Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard returned a fumble 98-yards for a touchdown to put them ahead in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals have now advanced and will be awaiting a clash with the Buffalo Bills next in the NFL Divisional round. In the other two play-off matches, the Buffalo Bills ousted the Miami Dolphins (34-31) and the New York Giants took down the Minnesota Vikings 31-24.
Ravens’ Marcus Peters criticized for unnecessary aggressiveness against the Bengals
Things got ugly and out of hand in a heavy-intensity game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens as the two sides fought out a highly contested game. However, there were some incidents on the field that were against the spirit of the game.
Baltimore Ravens cornerback is one such player who came under the spotlight for his antics. Peters was continuously jawing in the face of Bengals players and trying to invite them. A video posted by Josh Kirkendall on Twitter gets the camera angle showing Marcus Peters throwing jabs at Joe Mixon of the Cincinnati Bengals after a duel. This is a case of straight ejection from the game, but was gone unnoticed.
The incident happened when Marcus Peters and linebacker Patrick Queen tackled Joe Mixon onto the ground with about a 1:05 remaining on the clock. With Mixon lying on the ground, Peters threw some punches at his stomach. He was penalized for taunting and the Cincinnati Bengals were awarded free 10 yards.
Speaking about these instances after the game, Ja’Marr Chase looked visibly upset and offered no comments on Marcus Peters. “Listen, I have nothing to say about that dude. Nothing,” were his comments.
