OJ Simpson is no stranger to courtrooms and internationally publicized trials. The former Buffalo Bills running back was accused of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman but given a verdict of not guilty by the jury.

Recently, internationally renowned actress Gwyneth Paltrow saw the inside of a courtroom for a civil trial for a 2016 skiing accident she was involved in. Terry Sanderson, a retired optometrist sued Paltrow, over lasting injuries he suffered when the two crashed into each other at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah.

The 1969 first overall pick was asked to weigh into the Paltrow case by his social media followers. Simpson obliged and released a four-minute-long video detailing his thoughts and also added that he is familiar with the Deer Valley Resort and their ski tracks.

“I was watching today, I saw the run that their accident happened on. It was the same run that my accidents happened at Deer Valley, and I don’t know who you can determine whose fault it was,” Simpson said. “But accidents happen skiing, I don’t know how you could try to sue anybody for crashes on a ski slope. You see it all the time.”

OJ Simpson also recalled the time when he crashed into the same woman twice during his time at the resort while skiing. He also added that if he was asked which one of them caused the accident he would blame the lady and the lady would blame Simpson. He was confounded because there was no basis for suing the CEO of Goop. The Academy Award winner was awarded $1 and cleared of all the charges as the jury didn’t find her guilty.

OJ Simpson played in the NFL for 11 seasons and is considered to be one of the greatest running backs of all time. However, his legacy was overshadowed by legal troubles. In 994, he was charged with the murder of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Goldman. The trial went on for 11 months and was dubbed the ‘Trial of the century’ because it was highly publicized.

In the end, the jury found Simpson ‘not guilty’ and was cleared of all charges. In February 1997, Simpson was found responsible for the wrongful deaths of Brown and Goldman by a civil jury in California and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages. Later in 2007, the Pro Football Hall of Fame running back was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of kidnapping and earned robbery.
