“They’re holding out for more”: O.J Simpson claims Deshaun Watson’s accusers are only suing him to get rich

O.J. Simpson and Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson has finally begun to see the light at the end of the tunnel of legal troubles. He recently settled 20 of the 24 civil lawsuits that were filed against him by women for sexually harassing and misconduct with them. There are now 4 more suits left, which means either the women are not out for money and just want to see justice done or they are looking for a much bigger payout.

The NFL has its own investigation going on which irrespective of any civil settlements will give its own punishment and declare that very soon. We have heard a lot of analysts and pundits give their opinions of what may happen to the quarterback but today we heard from a rather unusual person who commented on the entire situation and shared his thoughts not only on Deshaun Watson but also on Baker Mayfield.

“He will not be a Brown next year”: O.J. Simpson on Baker Mayfield

Orenthal James Simpson, that name ought to sound familiar, he shared his thoughts on the situation surrounding Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson via his Twitter. As we all know, O.J. does know a thing or two about lawsuits so it does seem fitting that he speak on such a topic.

“Deshaun Watson settled 20 out of those 24 cases now. I do believe that some of the girls just jumped aboard but who knows. I do know this, the four that’s holding out, may have a better case against him and I have no doubt would it have been the same lawyer involved with all 24 cases than the last 4 girls would get more than the others,” the former running back stated believing that the ones who agreed on a settlement instantly may not have had that good of a case against the quarterback.

O.J. went on to add, “They are going to get as much as the highest-paid of the girls. There is no doubt in my mind that the four who have not settled they’re holding out for a little more and more than likely will get it.”

Coming to Baker Mayfield, O.J believes that the QB should shut out all the noise and just focus on himself and play the best football of his life to prove everyone wrong.“If I’m Baker, I’m going in there and I’m playing the best football of my life. Do what he’s always done, and give great effort. He’s kind of doing a dress rehearsal. He’s trying to show the other teams what he’s capable of doing. There’s no doubt he will not be a Brown next year. Next year is when Watson’s contract actually kicked in and it’s all guaranteed but this year, it’s time for him to show other teams in the league what he’s capable of doing and if he wants to make as much if or more than the $19.5 million that he’s guaranteed right now. The only way he could do that is to play this year and show these other teams’ quarterbacks that he’s capable and I’m cheering for him,” O.J. concludes.

He does have a point, Baker has no option but to play football be it for the Browns or to any team that he is traded to. In all likelihood, he will go to the Panthers and they open the season against Cleveland which is perfect for the quarterback. It is to be seen what happens to Mayfield as we still have a while to go until training camp opens officially.
