Still going strong at 35, Emmanuel Sanders called it a day in the gridiron after a staggering 12 years of impressive legacy complementing the man’s stature perfectly. Well, he doesn’t need to worry about his career picks as the calling of a television presenter and analyst is already blowing in the wind for the former 49ers.
Sanders spent six of his 12 glorious NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos and during this announcement, he was in the Broncos complex with his family. He hung his boots after a season that produced 13 starts for the Buffalo Bills in 2021-22.’

Turning back time, Sanders was a third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 draft. That was also the birth of a star whose career yielded 704 receptions, 9245 yards and a staggering 51 touchdowns. He got himself nominated in the Pro Bowl selection twice, was a part of three Super Bowls and lifted the Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos.
Talking about his retirement, Sanders quoted, “I’m proud to stand up here and tell you … that I chased down this dream and it was a hell of a ride. The game of football is tough on the body, and I lost a close friend [in Thomas],” Sanders said. ” … I had a heck of a career. I’ve been to three Super Bowls. For me, what else do I have to prove?”
Thomas talked about how a couple of teams had wanted him in their ranks for the upcoming season and yet his overall health and the demise of his long-time friend, Demaryius Thomas last December played a major role in his decision of hanging up his football boots.
All the three seasons in which Sanders belted out a 1000-yards was with the Denver Broncos. He was also a part of the 2014 Denver squad that had Peyton Manning as a quarterback, DeMarcus Ware as a linebacker, Aquib Talib as a cornerback and TJ Ward as a safety.
