As per the official reports of the sheriff, police responded to the rockslides near Lake Triangle, Oregon, where a 22-year-old male died due to sustaining injuries after a fall. Initially the identity of the victim was still unknown but after some investigation, it was identified as Webb.

Despite the best efforts of doctors, he could not be revived. There is no foul play involved in his death as it “appears to be accidental.” The University of Oregon released a statement on social media on Thursday sharing its support to Webb’s family and friends.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Spencer Webb. Our hearts go out to his family, teammates, and friends at such a difficult time. We will miss Spencer greatly,” University of Oregon released in its statement. Head Coach Dan Lanning shared his personal condolences as well by remembering Spencer. “So full of life in every moment of the day. Your smile and energy will be missed Spencer. I love you.”

The tight end was entering his fifth year with the Ducks. In the last season he played a total of 14 games recording 13 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown. Spencer loved football more than anything, for him the game was an escape. “I fell in love with football when I played my first year of flag football,” the tight end described when his passion for the game began.

Spencer was a confident man, sure of his abilities. He described himself as a ‘Swiss Army Knife.’ “I can run, I can block, I can catch. A lot of tight ends can block but not catch and some can catch but can’t block. With me, I do everything,” the tight end concluded.

Webb was an amazing talent and he was living his dream of playing for the Oregon Ducks as he was a fan of the team and some of the player it has produced. It is unfortunate that he has passed away at such a young age. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
